How a Jet Assist works:
A "Jet Assist" uses high pressure water and a venturi section to create a vacuum in the suction. The high pressure water is forced in to the jet toward the venturi section where the pipe diverges into a region of reduced cross sectional area, the throat. At the throat, the velocity increases and pressure decreases creating a vacuum pulling the material into the suction. The cross sectional area then expands after leaving the throat reducing the velocity of the water but increasing the pressure. The increase in pressure forces the material up the suction to the vacuum the pump has created. The additional energy added by a "Jet Assist" decreases the required vacuum the pump must produced thereby lowering the pump workload.
